NOTE: There will be a fireside chat with Rabia, after this event at 7:30 pm at Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City. That event is free and open to the public. First come, first seated.
Rabia is an attorney, advocate, NYT bestselling author, and executive producer of docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed on HBO. She is also a good human.
I came to know Rabia Chaudry, through Twitter, after watching her tirelessly fight for Adan’s innocence in the HBO docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed.
Having listened to Serial Podcast season one, and having read Rabia’s book Adnan’s Story, I too am convinced of his innocence.
This case was made popular through the global phenomenon podcast Serial, which examined the 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee and conviction of Adnan Syed, the wrongfully convicted man still in prison for the murder. Rabia has been Adnan’s public advocate and friend for the past 17 years and has now written Adnan’s Story in collaboration with Adnan, documenting his ordeal. She was also featured in the HBO docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed.
Join us for a private event with Rabia, an attorney and partner at Chaudry & Anwer Immigration Law, a recent Jennings Randolph Fellow at the U.S. Institute of Peace, an International Security Fellow at the New America think tank, and a Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute.
She is the co-host of Undisclosed, one of the top-ranked podcasts in the iTunes store with nearly 250 million downloads, and The 45th, with over four million downloads. She is a member of the National Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council and the Aspen Institute Vanguard Board. She is a frequent public speaker, and her writing has appeared in numerous outlets including Time.com, The Huffington Post, and the Chicago Sun-Times.
